playwriting

as a playwright, i aim to embrace theatricality while weaving haunting narratives that challenge singular perspectives and delve into the depths of human experience. my fascination lies in articulating the ineffable, drawing me towards the metaphysical, the symbolic, and the enchantment of everyday life.

growing up, i seldom found reflections of myself in the stories around me. it wasn't until I immersed myself in poetry, avant-garde literature, and the works of symbolists that I discovered a resonance with my world. these encounters awakened the poet within me, propelling my creative journey forward.

my work is characterized by a focus on movement and physicality, reflecting the dissonance inherent in navigating the complexities of existence. dialogue intertwines with imagery and sound, probing the visceral truths that stir within me. influenced by visionaries such as Maria Irene Fornes, Grotowski, Anton Chekhov, Haruki Murakami, and informed by cognitive neuroscience, ontology, decoloniality, alba emoting, meditation, pagan ritual, and personal experiences, my aesthetic and philosophical underpinnings converge to create plays where the emotional and physical realms intersect seamlessly.

in essence, my plays aspire to transcend mere political commentary, embodying a synthesis of profound beauty and profound truth.

as Lorca said, a “poem standing up.”
